This newly enacted End Of Life Option Act explicitly defines the interpreter’s role in helping terminally ill LEP patients commit physician cleared suicide. During this seminar we will examine the issues this new law represents for interpreters and their LEP clients, as well as steps interpreters can take to maintain professional boundaries during these encounters. Interpreters will also learn that they can refuse to perform the service entirely due to their spiritual beliefs or any other moral or personal objections.
